i-sense-you: week one

"i-sense-you" is our project this semester and focusing on Interaction Design.

Our aim is "to design a product that facilitates users the ability of being aware about the 'presence' of friends or family and the status of a particular situation. The product design must address the significance of 'presence' in a context that excludes face-to-face interaction." (2011, Chamorro)

There are three dimensions that will be essential to the project:
object, scenario, and behaviour

object: the physical design
The object relates to the actual industrial design of the product. it encompasses the materials used, aesthetics, ergonomics, electronics and input/output devices.

scenario: user group and context-of-use
This involves the scenario and context of use for the product. it will also look into how interaction will differ with multiple user groups.

behaviour: how the product works, why, when and how
This dimension focuses on the "sense" of the product and how it will practically work in its surroundings.  It will therefore involve the programming.

Assistive technologies, tangible interactions, social awareness and universal design are some of the areas that are going to be really important to retrieve information from in order to produce a successful product for this brief.
